Am I Eligible?
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline
descent from an ancestor who
aided in achieving American
Independence is eligible to join the DAR.
Documentation must be provided demonstrating the lineal,
bloodline descent. |

How do I find and
prove my descent from a Patriot ancestor?
DAR volunteers in chapters throughout the country can provide
guidance and assistance with the application process. The book
American Genealogical Research at the
DAR is also a valuable tool. |

Do I have a Patriot already
proven?
The national DAR web site has a
Patriot data base for all
proven Patriots to date. Check the list to see if you already
have a proven Patriot. |

Your first step should be to complete a
Pedigree
Chart as fully as you can. Then contact your
nearest
Chapter or use the
prospective member
request form on the
national web site. |
